Agrisafe Inaugural Winner of Start Up Weekend Hawke’s Bay

Agrisafe – a web application providing tools for driver safety in the primary industry have won the inaugural Start Up Weekend Hawke’s Bay, beating five other teams to take the title.

Start Up Weekend began on Friday evening at EIT in Taradale, Napier with people pitching their ideas and then forming teams to build their products. Over the course of the weekend, business models were developed and refined with the assistance of coaches and mentors.

The final presentations were delivered last night to a selection of judges, and in front of invited VIP’s.

Agrisafe will take home a prize package worth over $16,000, including a $10,000 advertising package with national sponsor Trademe.

Our team brought a range of skills and experience from backgrounds in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Marketing and Events, Web Design and Development, Videography, Editing and the Sciences.

Agrisafe’s varied skills and personalities collaborated extremely well over the weekend to develop an idea into a validated business case.

The Agrisafe team are incredibly thankful for the valuable time and effort that the mentors and all staff involved in Startup Weekend Hawke’s Bay put in. We want to encourage all budding entrepreneurs to participate in a Start Up weekend if they ever get the chance.
